Use it as part of a considered weekly ritual, followed by simple, soothing hydration.

Why You'll Love It

  • Helps improve the appearance of uneven skin texture
  • Supports smoother, fresher-looking skin
  • Helps soften the appearance of fine lines over time
  • Encourages a more refined and radiant-looking complexion
  • Easy to incorporate into a weekly skincare routine
  • Includes a protective storage case for hygienic storage

0.5 mm Precision Needles

The roller features fine 0.5 mm needles designed for cosmetic skin needling.

For best results, use gentle pressure and allow adequate time between treatments. More pressure does not produce better results and may increase the risk of irritation.

How to Use

1. Cleanse

Begin with clean, dry skin. Remove all makeup, sunscreen and skincare products.

2. Sanitise the roller

Before each use, soak the roller head in 70% isopropyl alcohol for approximately 5–10 minutes. Allow it to air-dry completely before it touches your skin.

3. Divide the face into sections

Work carefully across the forehead, cheeks, chin and jawline. Avoid the eyelids, lips and delicate area directly around the eyes.

4. Roll gently

Using very light pressure, roll vertically, horizontally and diagonally over each section. Lift the roller between passes rather than dragging or twisting it across the skin.

Do not continue rolling until the skin bleeds.

5. Soothe and hydrate

Follow with a simple, fragrance-free hydrating serum or moisturiser. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, strong vitamin C formulas and other potentially irritating ingredients until the skin feels calm.

6. Clean after every use

Rinse the roller carefully, sanitise it again with 70% isopropyl alcohol and allow it to air-dry before returning it to its protective case.

How Often Should I Use It?

For a 0.5 mm roller, we recommend beginning with once every 1–2 weeks and allowing the skin to recover fully between treatments.

Do not use the roller again while your skin remains red, sensitive, irritated or uncomfortable.

Aftercare

Your skin may appear slightly pink or feel more sensitive after use.

For the next few days:

  • Keep your routine simple and hydrating
  • Avoid exfoliating acids, retinoids and facial scrubs
  • Avoid saunas, swimming pools and intense exercise until the skin feels calm
  • Protect your skin with broad-spectrum SPF during the day
  • Avoid strong sun exposure
  • Do not pick, rub or exfoliate the treated area

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I use the derma roller?

For a 0.5 mm roller, we recommend beginning with once every 1–2 weeks and allowing the skin to recover fully between treatments. Do not use the roller again while your skin remains red, sensitive, irritated or uncomfortable. As your skin adjusts over time, some people find they can use it weekly.

Does it hurt?

When used correctly with very light pressure, the 0.5 mm roller should not be painful. You may feel a mild tingling or slight sensitivity, particularly on thinner areas of skin. If you experience significant discomfort, reduce the pressure or stop and allow more time between sessions.

What skincare should I use after rolling?

Follow with a simple, fragrance-free hydrating serum or moisturiser — the SilkyBare Hyaluronic Acid Serum is ideal. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, strong vitamin C formulas and other potentially irritating ingredients until the skin feels calm. Keep your routine simple and hydrating for the next few days.

How do I sanitise the roller?

Before each use, soak the roller head in 70% isopropyl alcohol for approximately 5–10 minutes. Allow it to air-dry completely before it touches your skin. After use, rinse carefully, sanitise again with 70% isopropyl alcohol, allow to air-dry, then return to its protective case.

When should I replace the roller?

We recommend replacing the roller head every 3–6 months with regular use, or sooner if the needles appear bent, dull or damaged. Using a worn roller can cause unnecessary irritation and reduce effectiveness. Never share your roller with another person.

Is the derma roller suitable for sensitive skin?

The derma roller requires careful use on any skin type. If your skin is sensitive, start with very light pressure and allow extra recovery time between sessions. Do not use on broken, sunburnt, inflamed or irritated skin, or over active acne, eczema, psoriasis or active dermatitis. If in doubt, seek professional advice before use.

Can I use the derma roller if I am pregnant?

We recommend seeking professional advice before use if you are pregnant, immunocompromised, taking blood-thinning medication, using prescription acne medication or managing an existing skin condition.

How long will it take to see results?

Results vary between individuals and depend on factors such as skin condition, consistency of use and routine.

Is there research behind facial tools like micro-needling?

Yes — clinical studies have explored how facial skin needling and increased circulation may support healthier-looking, smoother skin over time. Researchers have measured improvements in skin elasticity, texture and the appearance of fine lines with consistent use of facial devices. Read the research →
